IXP-Watch
IXP-Watch monitors exchange health and layer 2 parameters by taking traffic samples of broadcast and flooded traffic, currently every 15 minutes, for 15 minutes.
Monitoring includes the number of Non-IP packets, ICMP and ARP brodcasts seen on the peering LAN.
When a member disconnects or stops using an IPv4 address, we bind these addresses to a local monitoring machine in order to reduce the amount of background ARP. These are known as "sponged" addresses. BGP connection attempts to these addresses are also counted.
